Database Administrator - Oracle/SQL Server DBA supporting various third-party and in-house developed applications. The selected candidate will support all phases of database management in a 24x7 team-oriented environment.
Detailed Description
As a member of the Enterprise Distributed DBA team, this individual will be responsible for the overall management and administration of Oracle and SQL Server databases. Database administration, backup, recovery, performance tuning, disaster recovery planning, patch analysis, patch application, instance management, instance migration, and database upgrades are primary tasks. Individual will work with the development teams, infrastructure teams and other members of the DBA team during all phases of the application lifecycle to support configuration, customizations, testing and quality control. Candidate is expected to provide 24X7 production support in a team environment.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study, specialized training or equivalent work experience.
· 2 years Oracle and/or SQL Server experience in a production environment.
· Experience with High Availability and DR solutions within an Oracle or SQL Server environment is desirable.
· Windows/UNIX experience and shell scripting is desirable.
· Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively interface and team with all levels of the organization.
· Candidate must be self-motivated and assertive while possessing the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a team environment.
