Application Developer - Java, J2EE, Middleware Join the exciting Account and Services Development team in the Enterprise Business Services group as an Application Systems Engineer responsible for supporting, developing, leading projects and implementing complex business solutions to middleware systems. We are among the largest service providers within our environment supporting 2 billion plus transactions a month. You will be one of the development team members for critical middleware applications - APS (Account Product Services). As a senior developer you will gain a strong understanding of the systems end to end work flow, technical architecture and bank business knowledge. You will work with the team both local and remote (India), towards building/developing new business services using latest technologies. You will participate in technical leadership in projects, analysis/design of the web services, development and unit testing of web services, supporting QA groups and clients during the testing phase and supporting production implementation of the services. You will also be called upon to document design and best practices as needed. You may also be involved in infrastructure/framework enhancements for the above applications. This is a senior developer position. Minimum Qualifications: BS in Computer Science or equivalent, 7+ years in client server technology development. - Ideal if you have exposure to these technical languages/products: OOD, Java and J2EE (POJOs and Servlets), Spring, Tomcat 6.0, SOAP Stack (Apache Axis or Systinet), XSD, XML, XSLT, WSDLs, SQL and JDBC (Informix and DB2), Eclipse, JUnit, Ant, ClearCase, JProbe. - Must possess technical understanding of developing Enterprise Web Services specific applications in a Windows environment, deploy on HP-Unix; - Some back ground in production support and management of problems and resolving issues is desired. - Proficiency in writing code, comments, and unit testing; - Proficiency in writing and maintaining application frameworks such as Spring. - Experience with distributed systems (HTTP, SSL, Networking, Multi-tier environment) and experience with host data access protocols (e.g., MQ, DB2 connect) is desired. - Proficiency with analyzing memory issues, garbage collection, CPU and performance issues. Preferred Skills: - Should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills - Must be a quick thinker, learner, go-doer who can independently resolve problems with less direction. Good leadership skills. - A good team player who can collaborate and work closely with multiple functional groups. - Must have strong and effective communication skills, and ability to multi-task and work under stringent timelines within a strong, high energy team environment. - Familiarity with the APS application environment, messages and framework is a huge plus.
